Yes, all our Regency wood models come with the option of adding a blower.

No. Burning un-vented logs will void your warranty and will likely void your homeowner’s insurance.  Regency wood units are certified and approved to burn wood only.

Ash drawers make cleanup a lot easier and safer. Instead of scooping out the ashes after every fire, simply dump them into the drawer, and empty the drawer every few weeks. 

Consider the type of wood you are burning in your new Regency wood appliance, you should only be using seasoned wood & kindling. Fire starters can cause a bad smell. Make sure you regularly clean your unit to avoid lingering smells from past burning seasons. Also check what is on near the unit. Remove all objects from your mantel to see if this eliminates the smell. If a bad smell persists contact your Regency dealer right away.

Yes. Regular maintenance of your wood unit is recommended. An annual chimney sweep is a must for wood units to insure the safety of your home and family.Have your chimney checked by a qualified chimney sweep. For more information please visit our customer wood care and tips section.

Our blowers are designed to make minimal noise and slowly move air into the room. A high speed blower will move the heat past the room rather than into the room. Please be sure to visit our wood care & tips section for details on how to perform regular maintenance on your blower.

An outside air kit provides oxygen (combustion air) to your fireplace or stove from outside your home rather than from inside your home. The installation of an outside air kit is recommended for tightly constructed or well-insulated homes. 

Use only seasoned wood. Seasoned wood is wood that has been dried out for an extended period of time (ideally 6-12 months). Green or wet wood has too much water content and will result in a cooler and smokier fire.Wet wood also causes the formation of creosote in your chimney, a fire hazard to your home. Never burn painted logs in your wood fireplace. Painted wood releases toxic fumes into your home.

The first burn usually results in a smoking fire because the paint needs to be “cured”. This may be normal for the first three burns. If your wood fireplace or stove continues to smoke beyond this point than there may be a problem. Please contact your local authorized Regency dealer for more information.

This usually means there is not a sufficient draft. Make sure your air shutter is open. Consult your owner’s manual for details on how to adjust your air shutter.

A lazy dirty fire is a result of a fire deprived of oxygen. Make certain there is enough air supplied to your system. Damp or wet wood may also be the problem. Consult your owner’s manual for details on how to adjust your air shutter.

Insulation or venting issues may exist.  Contact your Regency dealer to sort out the problem.

A blower is useful tool is you want to distribute the heat produced by your stove. By forcing the hot air forward the blower increases the heating capabilities of your wood unit.

Every Regency wood model is designed with a unique airwash system that forces cool air in front of the glass to keep the flames and exhaust away. This keeps your door looking clean and transparent a lot longer. Over the course of a winter, or if you underfire your appliance, you might need to clean the glass. This is easily done with fireplace glass cleaner, available at your local hearth shop.
